This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and process your personal information, and how we protect your privacy.

Overview

• We collect personal and financial information from you, which is necessary to sell and ship products you purchase from us.
• We share only the minimum amount of personal information with third party service providers as is necessary to effectively sell products to you, such as our credit card processing company and major US shipping carriers.
• We use web browser cookies, which are necessary for a shopping cart to function.
• We collect web site usage information in order to understand and improve a user's experience.
• If you have purchased from us previously, or have explicitly signed up for a newsletter, we may contact you in the future.
• You have the right to request that we delete your personal information and/or cease future solicitation, and we will comply.
• We do not sell and have never sold personal information to any third party.

Essential information we collect

To operate our store, it is essential for us to capture some information about your device, such as your IP address and information related to your visit when you browse our store. For example, this might include timestamp, the last page or product you visited, and an indication of whether you are logged in.

We do that in order to:

• remember who you are after you log in so that you can remain logged in during your visit;
• monitor if our website is running with the high performance customers expect;
• let you browse between products without having to start back from the home page at each click;
• remember if you put something in your shopping cart before you decide to checkout;
• and control that your data is processed securely.

We call the information mentioned above "essential information" and we collect it through the use of cookies. Cookies are small text files that most websites use. A website places cookies in the web browser and then reads the information collected through the cookies every time the user performs an action. We use cookies. Without enabling this mechanism and this kind of cookies (first-party cookies), we could not provide you with the smooth experience that you expect while shopping our store.

Order information you expressly provide

If you buy something from our store, we will need more specific information about you. To fully process your order and ship the products, we need your personal data such as your first and last name, your e-mail address, and your shipping and billing address(es). We also use your contact and order information to send you communication related to the processing of your order. We will ask you to provide this information in our "checkout page" before letting you finalize your purchase with a payment.

Accounts

You may choose to sign up for an account. Doing so is optional; however, creating and maintaining an account allows us to remember your information and, when you decide to buy our products, you do not have to provide all of your information again -- you just have to log-in. An account also allows you to view the status, invoices, and details of your open order and previous orders. Before registering your account, we will require you to expressly provide your consent to this privacy policy. We also allow you to easily withdraw your consent and delete your account: just contact us with this request.

Partial Purchases

If you have started to buy one of our products, but have not completed the purchase, you may have provided partial information, such as your name and e-mail. In that case, we might send you an e-mail to remind you about your interest. If you prefer not to receive further e-mails of this kind, we will give you a simple opportunity to opt-out. Your privacy means a lot to us and we will stop sending you these communications right away.

Reviews

If you have completed a purchase, we will send you an e-mail to ask you to review the product you bought. We want to be sure that whether you love your purchase or have a complaint, you can share your opinion with other customers. We require your personal information to post a review because we do not allow anonymous reviews, and each review must be from a customer who actually purchased the product. This makes each review more valuable to other customers.

Personalization

We also use some specific information related to your visit, such as the timestamp of your visit, the page or the product you viewed, where you are coming from (if you came to our store because you clicked on an advertisement, search engine result, or you just opened our direct link). This is very similar to the "essential information," but we use it to provide you with a personalized experience. The information on your visit provides us with insights on your interests and allows us to send you relevant communications. We capture this information through cookies, called a "beacon," that we allow you to block.

We maintain two opt-in newsletter contact lists. The first, called Promos & Deals, may be subscribed to by providing your e-mail address in the form at the bottom of each web page. You may opt-in to the second contact list, which consists only of customers who have purchased a product, by checking the appropriate box during the Check Out process. We use the third party MailChimp platform to securely store and send e-mails to the lists. We never share our newsletter contact lists with any other third party. Frequency of e-mails sent are no more than one per month. You may choose to stop receiving e-mails from either or both lists using the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any e-mail received.

How do we process your information?

We use a trusted external provider to run our store. This provider is based in the US, is a participant in the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, and is committed to providing best-in-class service and data protection. Through this provider we also use other, highly specialized external providers for specific services. For example:

• Payment: ​Our store is PCI-DSS compliant (a very strict industry standard with requirements for the security of credit card information). Credit card payments are processed by Chase Paymentech merchant services via the Authorize.net secure gateway. PayPal payments are processed exclusively by PayPal. We do not store your payment information after your order Check Out is complete.
• Shipping: ​We integrate with a number of shipping companies to fulfill your orders, including UPS, the United States Postal Service, and FedEx.

We employ sitewide Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to maintain a private connection between your device and our server. You can verify this by the presence of https:// address on every page, along with a secure lock symbol, depending on your browser. How can you control your personal data?

If you are a customer in the EU, and we are specifically selling our products to the Member State where you are located, you have specific rights that we enforce without undue delay: Access, Correct, Erasure, Port, Object. If you cannot exercise your choice on your account page or if you do not have an account with us, please reach out to us. We will be more than happy to help.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep your data for as long as you have an account with us. We also keep some data for security investigation. Most importantly, we have specific obligations for fraud detection and tax reasons. We might need to share your personal information to comply with applicable legal obligations. Therefore, we might need to retain certain data even if you ask to delete it.

Do you need to lodge a complaint?

If you have any privacy complaint, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or the Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ) Consumer Protection office.

Updates

If we update our Privacy Policy to reflect a change or improvement of our services or a new legal obligation, we will publish the new version on our website, and we will make it clear on our home page so it will be visible as you enter our store.

Privacy Notice for California Residents

This PRIVACY NOTICE FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS supplements the information contained in the Privacy Policy of PNE International, LLC (collectively, “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies solely to visitors, users, customers, and others who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) and other California privacy laws.  Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this notice.

Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device (“personal information”). In particular, we have collected the following categories of personal information from consumers within the last twelve (12) months:

Personal information does not include:

• Publicly available information from government records.
• De-identified or aggregated consumer information.
• Information excluded from the CCPA's scope, like:
  • personal information covered by certain sector-specific privacy laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) or California Financial Information Privacy Act (FIPA), and the Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 1994.

We obtain the categories of personal information listed above from the following categories of sources:

• Directly from our customers. For example, from making a product purchase.
• Indirectly from our customers. For example, from a customer making a gift purchase for another person.
• Directly and indirectly from activity on our website (www.pnetools.com). For example, from purchases made through our website or website usage details collected automatically.
• From third-parties that interact with us in connection with the services we perform. For example, from PayPal when PayPal is the chosen payment method.

Use of Personal Information

We may use or disclose the personal information we collect for one or more of the following business purposes:

• To fulfill or meet the reason for which the information is provided. For example, to ship a product to you that was purchased from us.
• To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us.
• To provide you with email alerts and other notices concerning our products or services, or events or news, that may be of interest to you.
• To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any transaction, including for billing and collections.
• To improve our website and present its contents to you.
• For testing, research, analysis and product development.
• As necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property or safety of us, our customers or others.
• To respond to law enforcement requests and as required by applicable law, court order, or governmental regulations.
• As described to you when collecting your personal information or as otherwise set forth in the CCPA.

We will not collect additional categories of personal information or use the personal information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.

Sharing Personal Information

We may disclose your personal information to a third party for a business purpose.

In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have disclosed the following categories of personal information for a business purpose:

Category A:             Identifiers.
Category B:             California Customer Records personal information categories.
Category D:             Commercial information.

We disclose your personal information for a business purpose to the following categories of third parties:

• Our affiliates.
• Service providers.
• Third parties to whom you or your agents authorize us to disclose your personal information in connection with products or services we provide to you.

In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have not sold any personal information.

Your Rights and Choices

The CCPA provides consumers (California residents) with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights.

Access to Specific Information and Data Portability Rights

You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose to you:

• The categories of personal information we collected about you.
• The categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you.
• Our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that personal information.
• The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information.
• The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you (also called a data portability request).
• If we sold or disclosed your personal information for a business purpose, two separate lists disclosing:
  • sales, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient purchased; and
  • disclosures for a business purpose, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient obtained.

Deletion Request Rights

You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.

We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to:

1. Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform our contract with you.
2. Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for such activities.
3. Debug products to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
4. Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights, or exercise another right provided for by law.
5. Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code § 1546 seq.).
6. Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when the information's deletion may likely render impossible or seriously impair the research's achievement, if you previously provided informed consent.
7. Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations based on your relationship with us.
8. Comply with a legal obligation.
9. Make other internal and lawful uses of that information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it.

Exercising Access, Data Portability, and Deletion Rights

To exercise the access, data portability, and deletion rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by either:

Only you or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child.

You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:

• Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
• Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you.  Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us.  We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requester's identity or authority to make the request.

Response Timing and Format

We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt.  If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.  If you have an account with us, we will deliver our written response to that account.  If you do not have an account with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option.  Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the verifiable consumer request's receipt.  The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable.  For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily usable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.

We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.  If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:

• Deny you goods or services.
• Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
• Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
• Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

Changes to Our Privacy Notice

We reserve the right to amend this privacy notice at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes to this privacy notice, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our website homepage.
